Driving carriages for over 30 years, Claire Bourne is fully qualified with the British Driving Society. She proudly holds the Light Harness Horse Instructors qualification which also includes an advanced certificate in carriage driving.Try your hand at driving anything from a single Shetland pony through to a team of Friesians. We also have a specially adapted carriage to enable wheelchair bound pupils to train and compete with our impeccably trained ponies.
Claire is also an assessor for the Society’s Proficiency exams. We have taught carriage driving to people of all ages and abilities across East Anglia. Many have gone on to compete or work commercially with horses with great success!
Claire aims to promote the sport of carriage driving whilst ensuring you enjoy it thoroughly. She is willing to travel and can come help you with your own turnout. Alternatively you can also bring your turnout to her or use one of her well-schooled horses or ponies. At all times, you will find her to be extremely friendly, patient and versatile.
Snailriver has had great success in training several horses, ponies and even a donkey to drive. They have gone on to compete successfully, be used commercially or just used for pleasure driving.

Last week we enjoyed an hour-long carriage drive through the lanes around Kettlebaston to celebrate my wife's 80th birthday and we were not diappointed. Claire & Mark along the the very plush carriage and two horses were all ready when we arrived. The sound of the hooves along with being so close to the hedgerows and open fields delightful.
